Practice and time
« on: November 08, 2011, 06:13:32 AM »
Greetings to everybody!

It is interesting to know - how do you manage your time for good and full practice? What is the best way to combine practice and social activities (work, family, etc.) - in the daytime? For example, I often do only Ki-circulation exercises (10-15 minutes) in the morning; breathing and finishing exercises - in the evening, when all affairs are calming down :)

After impressions I'v got on second seminar I'm practicing whole complex every day in the morning)))
During summer there was situations when I hadd to hurry up to airport or something like this, so that time I did only Ki Circulation, and danjeon breathing on my way there) it seems to me it is also practice to do danjeom breathing during your working day))

Hello!
Since first seminar, I had started doing the full practice session every day in the morning. It takes me about an hour and 45 minutes, plus 10-15 minutes for breathing just after awake - so all daytime practice lasts for about 2 hours. It takes me about 30 minutes to do Ki-circulation exercises. During this exercises, it is important to keep "presence in the body" if I clearly understand, and it is difficult just after awake. About the time for practice - I'm practicing in the morning for a long time, so time is reserved and this is a habit. Before I start Kouk-sun-do practice, I made a day of break for myself (once a week), but now my practice is continuous.

According my short experience, I think that it's better and more efficient to find time and do the whole practice session, and not to break it. I found that it's better to do it in the evening.

Hi to everybody!
First stage includes 50 postures (by the words of Master Jin Mok).
The questions:
1. shuold I do all 50 postures (there's not enough music :)) or divide into 25 postures for to practices in one day?
2. or should I practise first 25 postures and after it start the second part of them?
Clarify please.

Greetings!

1. If you have enough time and power you can do all 50 postures. The important moment - you need to do the postures in right progression - first postures which are connected with young elements and then postures which connected with adult elements. For this you need to change the lines of postures. If Master Kim approves I will give here this progression. As for music you can put it for repeat. We do this variant of practice with Master Kim during the seminar, it is very effective.
2. First 25 postures need to be practiced for 100 days (each day), then you can practice next 25 (or do all 50 if you have enough time). 100 days practice is not a stone rule, but it is better to follow it, because as Master Kim says first stage is a fundament for all future practice and it is worth to be fundamental :)

Hello!

I think it depends on your physical condition and lifestyle. Kouksundo is very natural practice! :)
In Kouksundo main center in Seul classes go from 7 a.m till 9 p.m. If you go to sleep late what's wrong with it to start your practice in 9 p.m. What about meals - the main thing is that it won't disturb you during tangeon breathing.
